It's SUMMERTIME! I know you'll be making plenty of memories this summer, so how about making something to store them in like this upcycled container:
I can't wait to start adding family memories, photos, little notes and other memorabilia to this container (formerly known as a Blue Bunny ice cream container). Here's how I made it:
Supplies:
Glue Dots© (Craft, Mini, Pop Up)
plastic ice cream container
gesso
eco-friendly acrylic paint (EcoGreen Crafts "Sand")
paint brush
black cardstock (Recollections)

| Upcycled Summer Memories Container Tutorial |
1. Clean and dry an empty plastic ice cream container.
2. Apply 2 coats of gesso to cover the container's design. Let dry in between coats. Apply 2-3 coats of eco-friendly acrylic paint. Let dry.
3. Make a cover for the lid from a sheet of the Simple Stories cardstock. Attach to lid using Craft Glue Dots©.
4. Cut out the "summer" banner element from the Simple Stories kit. Mat each letter banner with black cardstock and adhere together using Craft Glue Dots©. Attach black ribbon to the banner with Mini Glue Dots©.
5. Decorate the container with cardstock and stickers from the kit. Use Pop Up Glue Dots© to add the banner.

Fill the container with 4x6 cut-apart elements and flashcards from the
Simple Stories kit, along with photos and memorabilia from the summer
months. I made a mini-notebook using my Cinch and the flashcards:

ReplyDeleteDanielle, this is awesome. I have seen similar ones done, but this is so much cuter. Simple Stories is one of my fave companies and they are set up to do these types of things perfectly. I LOVE IT!!!
