At the end of April, I shared my "How to fail at Etsy" post with you and planned on posting an update last Monday, but I had to postpone due to computer issues. Luckily, I'm able to use my husband's computer and will have already picked up my laptop by the time you read this.
I've made some minor progress since my last Etsy post and joined three teams: Etsy Paper, Toledo Ohio and the Northwest Ohio Etsy Team.
And guess what? I actually placed my very first Etsy order with Mamacateyes:
My Etsy order consisted of an 8 pack of recycled tea green paper, a free set of blue recycled paper (from her BOGO sale) and two packs of buttons (brown and yellow). The shipping was super fast and all the items were neatly wrapped in recycled paper with the buttons snug-tight in envelopes stamps with "thank you" (as shown). I was very pleased.
Even though the paper may have hints of the dreaded acid that we scrapbookers fear so much, I still created a page using the recycled paper, but matted the photo with acid-free recycled paper for some protection:
If you are ever concerned about using "unsafe" papers in your scrapbooks, consider Krylon's "Make It Acid-Free" spray or Archival Mist by EK Success which will help slow down the aging process of paper. I have the Archival Mist in my craft closet, but haven't had any experience using it yet. Let me know if you've tried either of the above or know of another product that helps preserve paper.
Before I head back out to the garden, I wanted to let you know about my new summer blog schedule. Here's what I posted on my other blog:
Note: I've decided, at least for the summer, to go on a "blog when I feel like it" kind of schedule. After having issues with my laptop (stupid virus) and being overwhelmingly busy (Layout A Day, design team responsibilities and trying to keep up with two blogs), I want to take a break from it all and just be a mom...not a scrapbooker...not a blogger...just mom.
I still have plans to post every Wednesday during June on Snap.Scrap.Blog.Tweet and will continue to have occasional posts on EcoScrapbook, but not every Monday as originally planned. This girl just wants to have fun! No more schedules, only summer-lovin' good times with my daughters.
The purpose is to work on quality posts and not quantity. This will also free up more time to be able to sit back and enjoy reading posts about your creative lives, which is limited during my current schedule.
You are still free to contact me via email or on Twitter, as I will still have my Blackberry nearby (while I play on the swing set or tend to my garden).
Oh, and don't forget to Like EcoScrapbook on Facebook for a chance to win a Cosmo Cricket Upcycle theme set (only 6 more 'Likes' needed!). See my most recent Cosmo Cricket layout and learn why it's my favorite manufacturer here.
