9 scrapbooking manufacturers that love the earth

The earth is what we all have in common. - Wendell Berry

Where in the world can I find eco-friendly scrapbooking supplies? That's the question I asked myself over a year ago when I went on a mission to find scrapbooking manufacturers that offer alternative choices such as FSC-certified paper, handmade or recycled paper and organic inks.

Guess what? I found nine top scrapbooking companies that design and make green supplies for our scrapbooks. (There are other earth-loving companies that I will focus on in a future blog post.)

Here's what they had to say:

Paper Trunk was established in the summer of 2007 as one of the leading manufacturers of recycled scrapbook papers. Always striving to research and provide products, packaging, and resources that are Earth friendly...without compromising on quality.

The first major scrapbooking manufacturer to print its entire collection of scrapbook paper on certified recycled paper with organic based ink.

Cosmo Cricket
As a paper manufacturer, I often feel a little twinge of guilt when friends talk about environmental issues. So, I am over-the-top excited about the fact that now Cosmo Cricket paper is FSC certified.

Creative Imaginations
We are now printing all our domestic paper products on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper using soy inks.

BasicGrey
BasicGrey paper is environmentally friendly. For every tree that is cut down to manufacture their paper, two trees are planted. Oh, but the ink... That's soy-based, FSC-certified archival safe.

Green & Eco Paper Stacks (digital kits available too)
It's easy to reduce, reuse, and recycle...[the Green & Eco Stacks are] all printed on 70% post-consumer recycled paper that is also acid- and lignin-free.
It was difficult to find kraft paper that is acid free and lignin free in a folio size, so we custom manufactured our kraft paper – it’s one of a kind and it’s made from 100% recycled stock.

K&Company
All Remake products are printed using soy-based inks and created using sustainable manufacturing practices and recycled 100% post-consumer waste. Plus, our paper packaging is made with 100% PCW and is reusable by our printed designs that you cut out to embellish your projects. Even the clear protective bags are made from corn-based materials.

Time Flies Scrapbook Company
We were one of the first companies to offer a "green" line of 12x12 scrapbook paper. It is amazing quality, and beautiful design - you will NOT be disappointed.

It's fascinating to read the statements by these eco-friendly scrapbooking companies. I could have just listed the names, but what fun is that? I like to research and get actual proof that these companies are green.

Go like EcoScrapbook on Facebook and once I get 25 likes, I'll do a giveway here! (Hint: It will include products from one of the companies listed above.)
